FireLab is proud of being the pioneer in curtain wall and fire testing. FireLab was established in 1991 with 30 years experience in curtain wall and fire testing services. We provide all aspects of curtain wall or fire testing, consulting services and assessments.
With the accredited status, our testing and assessment reports are fully recognized by the statutory and regulatory authorities.
FireLab is operated by delicate specialists with doctoral degree in civil and structural engineering and years of experience in advanced testing in building structures and fire engineering.
Fire Resistance Testing
Our laboratory provide fire testing services for a wide range of fire resistance and performance tests for loadbearing and non-loadbearing building elements those can be tested in accordance with various of standards such as European (EN1363), British (BS476 Part 20), American (ASTM E119), Australian (AS 1530.4), International test standards (ISO 834) and as well as UL fire testing standards.
We provide furnaces for performance tests on both vertical and horizontal building elements including wall partitions, block wall systems, steel doorsets, timber doosets, shutters, windows, glazing systems, lift-landing doorsets, pipe wrap system, dampers, smoke curtain and screen, ceiling systems, loaded beams and columns, floor structures, and other protected steel members.
Relevant test information such as temperature, air pressures, measurement of deformation and irradiance, are controlled and recorded by advanced computerised systems.
Fire Assessments
Apart from fire resistance testing, FireLab also offers the most comprehensive assessment consultancy services in China to satisfy different client’s needs for fire safety products.
The assessment can be covered as a single assessment for individual items in project basic or to cover a variety of changes for a wide range of fire safety products.
In addition, we can provide testing-assessment packages to let our client gets the maximum amount of their products assessed for the minimum cost.
Curtain Wall Testing
To provide an ideal appearance, shape, size proportioning and performance of the façade and curtain walls planned for construction, we provide various sizes of testing chambers to carry out different structural tests in accordance with APP-37 (formerly known as Practice Note for Authorized Persons – PNAP 106) from the Buildings Department (HK) and national specifications including American Standards (ASTM), British Standards (BS) and Chinese Standards (GB).
We have various sizes of chambers for testing in our laboratory to fulfill the requirements of architects and designers with different sizes and shapes of façade system.
We had constructed a multi-testing chamber such that various sizes of mock-up windows and curtain walls can be installed simultaneously. It is also equipped with high precision, computerized equipment such as air flow meters, water flow meters, pressure gauges, displacement transducers, hydraulic jacks for building movement tests and propellers for dynamic water tests.
